Frequently Asked Questions
Let's answer some of your most common questions about StemWave™.
Q: Does insurance pay for this?
A: Unfortunately, this treatment is not yet covered by insurance. However, it still serves as a more cost effective alternative to other regenerative medicine options or surgery.
Q: Does the treatment hurt?
A: When the treatment goes over healthy tissue you won't feel anything, but when we go over damaged tissue it will cause some discomfort. However, it is a manageable pain that doesn't require numbing cream or anesthetic. We like to say "you have to feel it to heal it" because when you let us know you are feeling discomfort, that means the treatment is working and allows us to focus on that area.
Q: Is this treatment safe?
A: Yes, this treatment is labeled by the FDA as a "nonsignificant risk factor". Meaning this device is safe to be used over all parts of the body without significant risk of negative side-effects. There are only 4 things we cannot perform treatment over: 1. pacemakers, 2. fetal tissue, 3. active tumor or cancer, 4. teenage growth plates
